FAQ

Q. How long before I see results?

A: The time you see results varies by brand. Full results can be observed at around 14 days.

Q. How much downtime is there after treatment?

A: Most clients go directly back to their day-to-day activities following treatment. We only advise that you refrain from any excessive physical activity for 24 hours, and that you do not apply make-up over the injection points for 12 hours.

Q. How long does Botox last?

A: Results and longevity varies, but it may last up to 3-4 months.

Q. Does Botox hurt?

A: Most clients report little to no discomfort during the injection procedure, no more than a small pinch. We do offer topical numbing if you are anxious about the discomfort factor

Q: Is Microneedling painful?

A: Most clients report little to no discomfort. A medical grade topical anesthetic cream is applied for 20min before the procedure so it is almost painless. Certain areas may be more sensitive than others and depending on the depth you may feel a scratching like sensation.

Q: How long before I can return to work after having microneedling?

A: Usually the next day. The area being treated will be red for 24-48 hours. After 24 hours, make-up can be applied to cover any redness so you may go out after this time if you wish to do so.

Q: Will I see results immediately

A: The effects are long term and thus results are ongoing. A course of treatments is advised for best results.

Q: Am I a candidate for microneedling?

A: The ideal candidates for medical microneedling are those who want to treat or improve the following conditions/concerns:

  • Sun damaged skin
  • Enlarged pores
  • Lines and wrinkles
  • Sagging skin
  • Skin texture
  • Acne
  • Acne scarring
  • Scars
  • Rosacea
  • Stretch marks
  • Hyperpigmentation
  • Vitiligo
  • Hair loss
Q: Are the results instant?

A: With fillers, results can be instantaneous. Given that filler injections cover a larger deeper area, you may have some bruising or swelling that persists for a short while, particularly in the lip region. You can expect this swelling to go down and see true results after 1-2 weeks.

Q: Are dermal fillers reversible

A: Yes. In the unlikely event you want to dissolve some of your filler, this can be done in-office during a short visit.

Q: How long will my filler last?

A: Again, this is entirely case-specific. It will always depend on the product used and the area you are treating, as well as how quick your metabolism is. As a general rule, fillers last between 6-12 months, depending on area. When you are treated, we can give you an estimate of how long your specific filler might last.

Q: Does Dermal filler treatment cause pain?

A: Depending on your individual pain tolerance, and where you’re using the filler, discomfort levels vary. We use a medical strength topical numbing agent to make all filler injections as comfortable as possible. Most people report little more than mild discomfort.

Q: What is a Chemical Peel?
A: A chemical peel is a skin treatment; which is used to improve and smooth out the surface of the facial skin. A chemical solution is applied which weaken the bonds between skin cells to remove top layers of dead skin. The peeling process leads to new skin growth – usually smoother, healthier and less wrinkled giving a radiant, younger appearance.
Q: Which Peel is right for me?
A: There are three different types of peel: superficial, medium and deep peels. These are categorised by the strength of the acid solution used in the peel and how deeply they penetrate the skin. Deeper peels penetrate the skin further and require greater recovery time and pain relief medication.

At your consultation, we will advise you on the different types of peels that are available that are best suited for your skin concern and type.

Q: What should I do before and after my peel?
A: In order to achieve the best results safely, a strict protocol should be followed. This may include pre and post care as well as a home-care regime. This will ensure that the best results are achieved and will help reduce the risk of complications. This will all be discussed at your consultation and will be emailed to you for your convenience.
Q: How many peels do I need?
A: This will depend on your skin concerns. Usually a multimodal approach is advised to give you the best results. The number of treatments required will be discussed at your consultation.
